The NZRL is hoping for a quick-smart appointment of a new Kiwis coach following Daniel Anderson's departure to English SuperLeague club St Helens.
Vice Chairman Selwyn Bennett says they have at least seven expressions of interest.
Bennett will chair a three-man committee which looks at the applications and makes a recommendation to the board.
He says they will not be mucking around as they need a coach in place soon for October's Tri-Series.
Bennett says they will collate the applications and make a decision soon.
Bennett is very satisfied with the calibre of candidates, including James Leuluai, Brian McClennan and former test great Mark Graham, and says with such a high calibre of local coaches applying, they are not looking off shore.
No time frame or cut off date has been given.
