New South Wales utility Craig Wing says the Blues need to respond better to disappointment if they are to overcome Queensland in tomorrow night's origin clash at Suncorp Stadium.
Wing, who missed game two through a hamstring injury, says the Blues have paid the price for dropping their heads at crucial moments in the opening two games which Queensland won to wrap up a fourth straight series win.
"It's our reaction to something negative that happens on the field," said Wing in Brisbane yesterday.
"In game one it was the [Jarryd] Hayne [disallowed] try and then OD [Luke O'Donnell] lost the ball over the line.
"It's a concentration thing as well, being on the ball, playing every moment, every play, rather than lamenting what happened the play before."
Wing believes the inclusion of several experienced heads - in particular, veteran halves Trent Barrett and Brett Kimmorley - will help the Blues deal with adversity better.
NSW held their penultimate training session at Langlands Park yesterday with an opposed session against the NSW Residents side, which will play against their Queensland equivalent in the curtain-raiser.
Skipper Kurt Gidley could only watch on from the back as he nursed his rib injury. But he is expected to train in the team's final run at Suncorp Stadium today.
