KEY POINTS:
Former Warriors coach Tony Kemp has been appointed New Zealand Rugby League high performance director.
Kemp had been co-opted on to the NZRL board in November in the wake of the Grannygate and also headed a committee to appoint a convenor of selectors.
His new role is primarily focused on helping grow the number of professional players through regional academies and high-performance projects.
"Tony is ideal for the role," NZRL general manager Peter Cordtz said. "He's coached at the highest level in England and Australia and he's lived the pathway himself as a player."
Meanwhile, voting for the new NZRL board closes on Thursday.
