Kiwis' playmaker Benji Marshall is in doubt for next week's Anzac league test after leaving the field in the Wests Tigers' defeat to the Melbourne Storm last night.
Reports suggest he left the ground in a surgical boot after suffering a toe injury. The extent of the injury is unknown, and Tigers' coach Mick Potter was cagey after the match.
"Benji's got a toe injury and it's being assessed now. So I'm not sure what the extent is,'' Potter said.
The Tigers' number six crossed the tryline to put his side up early in the second half last night before the Storm finished strong to win 26-12.
If Marshall is out of the test against Australia on April 19 it would be another blow for the Kiwis. Dragons' backline utility Gerard Beale was ruled out for the rest of the season after re-rupturing his ACL.
