The saga that has been Vinnie Anderson's transfer to the London Broncos took another twist yesterday when a majority of the 12 Super League clubs voted to allow the Broncos to continue.
The Kiwis second-rower signed a three-year deal with the Broncos after being released from the Warriors. But the Rugby Football League (RFL) has so far refused to register the player until the Broncos' financial situation had been sorted out, meaning the 26-year-old has missed the first three games of the new season.
Anderson will again sit out when the Broncos visit Bradford today.
Bradford were the club believed to have strongly objected to the Broncos signing Anderson, given their large debts. Bradford were also recommended by the Warriors to Anderson when they released him but he might now be getting closer to a London jersey.
The 12 Super League clubs were called to an emergency meeting in Huddersfield yesterday to discuss whether to allow the Broncos to continue to exist.
A majority of the clubs approved a plan to allow the Broncos to go into administration and write off debts of 3 million ($8m).
It has opened up the possibility of a new buyer taking over the club and rumours persistly link Warriors owner Eric Watson with the club.
Broncos spokesman Chris Warren said the club were delighted and would now make moves to register Anderson this week.
However, it's understood Anderson's signing remains delicate and it is still possible he could go to a rival club.
