KEY POINTS:
Former Kiwi Tony Kemp has been added to the New Zealand Rugby League's (NZRL) national selection panel.
National director of football Graham Lowe today announced Kemp, now the NZRL's high performance director, would join reappointed fellow former Kiwis Tony Iro, Darrell Williams and Daryl Halligan.
Lowe said it was logical to continue with Iro, Williams and Halligan after the work they had done in conjunction with Kiwis coach Brian McClennan.
"They've worked well together over the last two years and they should continue the job they've been doing," he said.
Lowe said it was also valuable to have Kemp involved in his role as the NZRL's high performance director.
"Tony is driving programmes that will provide improved pathways for our younger talent coming through.
"The players he'll be watching closely will be the ones who are in line to go on to become Kiwis in a few years. He'll have a valuable contribution to make to the process."
Former Kiwis captain Howie Tamati is still the national selection panel convener.
