League: Jennings out of Origin

SYDNEY - NSW centre Michael Jennings has been ruled out of next Wednesday's State of Origin II clash at ANZ Stadium, replaced by Canberra's Joel Monaghan.

Jennings has failed to overcome a calf strain sustained in the 28-18 Origin I loss to Queensland three weeks ago.

Monaghan returns to the Blues after making one appearance for NSW in Origin III last year.

NSW's other shadow players, Bulldogs centre Josh Morris and Canberra Raiders forward Tom Learoyd-Lahrs, will return to their clubs today to prepare for their respective NRL matches.
