West Tigers backrower Bronson Harrison will debut for the Kiwis in Saturday's (NZ time) rugby league international against France.
Harrison, 20, will start the match in Toulouse at lock after showing plenty of skill and flair in the New Zealand Invitational side's game against England.
Kiwis coach Brian McClennan said he had been impressed by Harrison's attitude throughout the tour.
Harrison also played a starring role for the Tigers in their march to the National Rugby League premiership this season.
"Bronson really made us pick him for the touring squad after his performance in Sydney for the New Zealand A side," McClennan said.
"He is one of the best trainers in the squad and it's great to be able to give him the chance to play his first test.
"He is a very talented player and I have no doubt he's got a big future in the game and in the Kiwis jersey."
McClennan was forced to make a number of changes to his side after the last test against Great Britain at Huddersfield's Galpharm Stadium.
"Injury has forced our hand a bit this week," McClennan said.
"But in saying that, we've got plenty of depth and talent in this squad, so it hasn't been a big headache."
