League: Fien in Kiwis' train-on squad

Former Queensland State of Origin representative Nathan Fien was today included in an initial 19-man train-on squad for the Kiwis' defence of their Tri-Nations rugby league crown.

Fien, 27, is one of 11 New Zealand Warriors in the squad, from which the New Zealand A side will also be drawn.

Other players will be added as clubs are eliminated from the National Rugby League and the British Super League competitions.

The initial train-on squad: Patrick Ah Van, Louis Anderson, Nathan Fien, Epalahame Lauaki, Simon Mannering, Sam Rapira, Jerome Ropati, Evarn Tuimavave, Manu Vatuvei, Brent Webb, Ruben Wiki (New Zealand Warriors); Iosia Soliola (Sydney Roosters); Frank Pritchard, Tony Puletua (Penrith); Nigel Vagana (Cronulla); David Fa'alogo (South Sydney); Dene Halatau, Paul Whatuira, Rangi Chase (Wests Tigers).
