Two Canterbury Bulls players have been banned from playing rugby league after testing positive for cannabis use.
Prop Vince Whare was banned two years for a second positive test in two years.
Blake Milner got two months after he was caught for cannabis use after the Bartercard Cup Grand Final.
Whare, 28, tested positive on August 20 after a Bartercard Cup match.
His other positive test was recorded at a Pacific Rim tournament on October 2004 and he was reprimanded and fined.
In its written decision, the Sports Disputes Tribunal accepted Whare used cannabis as "relief during some trying days in his life".
Counties-Manakau touch player William Morunga was also banned two years for a second positive cannabis test in July.
Another big name athlete to be caught for cannabis use was this year was basketball's Tall Black, Mark Dickel.
