NSW coach Craig Bellamy has made five changes to his side for next week's must-win State of Origin clash with Queensland at ANZ Stadium.
Beaten 28-18 in Origin I, NSW must defeat Queensland on June 24 to prevent the Maroons claiming an unbeatable 2-nil series lead and unprecedented fourth straight series crown.
Bellamy announced his side last night with the return of Trent Barrett the major change, while Test duo Paul Gallen and Glenn Stewart come back into the side after missing Origin I due to injury and suspension.
Barrett replaces Canberra's Terry Campese at five-eighth, returning to the Origin arena for the first time since 2005 and 12 years after he made his debut in the sky blue.
Test prop Luke Bailey (broken arm), backrower Luke Lewis (broken toe) and winger James McManus (Achilles tendon) have been ruled out of the game due to injury and will be replaced by Gallen, Stewart and Manly's David Williams.
The only other axing was Gold Coast's Anthony Laffranchi, dropped in favour of Manly's Anthony Watmough.
Penrith's Michael Jennings (calf) and Manly's Jamie Lyon (ankle) have both retained their positions in the centres despite playing very limited football since the loss at Etihad Stadium.
Jennings hasn't played since Origin while Lyon lasted just 14 minutes in his only NRL appearance for Manly a week ago.
Bench utility Craig Wing was named on the interchange despite sustaining a hamstring injury in South Sydney's loss to Melbourne in Perth last Saturday.
With several injury concerns hanging over the 17-man squad, Bellamy has also called upon Canberra pair Tom Learoyd-Lahrs and Joel Monaghan, plus Bulldogs centre Josh Morris, to join the camp as potential replacements.
Fullback Kurt Gidley (calf) also remains under an injury cloud.
The team is:
Kurt Gidley (capt), Jarryd Hayne, Michael Jennings, Jamie Lyon, David Williams, Trent Barrett, Peter Wallace, Brent Kite, Robbie Farah, Michael Weyman, Ben Creagh, Luke O'Donnell, Paul Gallen. Interchange: Craig Wing, Justin Poore, Glenn Stewart, Anthony Watmough.
