A year after snubbing his induction into rugby league's team of the century, Immortal Arthur Beetson was to be finally handed his team blazer last night.
Beetson, who played 74 games for Balmain Tigers between 1966 and 1970, was to be presented with his blazer at halftime of the Wests Tigers-Melbourne clash at Leichhardt Oval.
Beetson was named as one of two props in the greatest collection of rugby league talent, but he boycotted the centenary ball because he did not agree with the direction the game was headed.
The former Kangaroos captain said not enough was being done by administrators to nurture the game at grassroots level.
