Former Kiwis league centre Richie Blackmore has put his hand up for the New Zealand test coaching job.
Blackmore, who coaches Manurewa, was among 12 contenders when the deadline for expressions of interest in the vacancy expired yesterday.
Others in contention to replace Daniel Anderson, who has joined English Super League club St Helens, include Brian McClennan and James Leuluai, who were Anderson's Kiwis assistants. They are seen as early frontrunners.
