A former Kiwis hard man wants to coach the Warriors.
Current Warriors coach Andrew McFadden's future is uncertain following the side's failure to make the playoffs for the fifth year in a row.
Tigers assistant coach David Kidwell has been based in Australia for the past 20 years and said if an opportunity comes up in Auckland he would have a crack.
"If an opportunity came up you'd be silly not to put your hand up, because obviously being a Kiwi myself, I've been over here for 20 years now, and I know the Australian mentality, if you like.
"I have got aspirations to be head coach. When that is who knows. I always had goals as a player and as a coach I have my goals as well. We'll just have to wait and see."
