NSW coach Laurie Daley has sensationally called for referees Gerard Sutton and Ben Cummins to be sacked from officiating State of Origin II after several controversial calls in the interstate series opener.
Several crucial calls went against the Blues in their 6-4 game-one loss on Wednesday night at ANZ Stadium.
As a result, Daley said in his post-match media conference he wanted different referees appointed when the sides met again in three weeks at Suncorp Stadium.
"There were plenty of big calls that happened," Daley said."Put it this way, I will be asking for those two referees not to be officiating in game two ... there is your story."
When asked why he wanted the referees changed Daley replied: "based on history and based on that game."
