SYDNEY - Sometimes it's not who you know, it's where you know.
While thousands of Kiwis were queueing for free tickets at Sydney Ticketek outlets this morning for this weekend's National Rugby League semifinal involving the New Zealand Warriors, Bryan and Jan Webster were two of just a handful waiting at the Wynyard railway station outlet an hour before tickets were available.
"We saw the long queue in Elizabeth Street and came straight here. Not too many people know about this one," Mrs Webster said.
Warriors' owner Eric Watson bought 10,000 tickets for the semifinal against Canberra Raiders at Aussie Stadium on Saturday night and made them available for Warriors' supporters who produce a New Zealand passport at Ticketek outlets.
Mr and Mrs Webster, Sydney residents for the past 30 years, said they were lucky enough to be on holiday and have the time to queue up for tickets.
"This is a wonderful offer by the Warriors. We would have gone to the game anyway, but to able to do so for free is great," Mr Webster said.
And what are they expecting on Saturday night?
"The way they went against the Bulldogs last weekend, they'll kill them," Mrs Webster said.
