Scotland 9
Australia 6
The weather was just like Murrayfield and Scotland once again scored a dramatic victory over the Wallabies, kicking a penalty goal after fulltime to win 9-6 in dreadful conditions in Newcastle last night.
Wallabies prop Ben Alexander was penalised by referee Jaco Peyper for collapsing the scrum, and Scotland five-eighth Greig Laidlaw calmly slotted his third kick for the night to leave Australia stunned by another embarrassing upset.
Last night, driving rain and gale-force winds made for some of the worst conditions ever seen for a rugby test match in Australia as the tourists retained the Hopetoun Cup.
It was only their second victory in Australia, following a win in Brisbane in 1982.
