Sir Ian McGeechan has praised those who helped him after he collapsed at Westpac Stadium on Saturday night before the Lions defeat of the All Blacks.
In his coloumn in The Telegraph the former British and Irish Lions coach thanked those who helped him on the night and all the people who sent him well wishes.
"I would like to thank all the well-wishers and to all those who provided brilliant care both at the stadium and at Wellington hospital", McGeechan wrote.
McGeechan, 70, collapsed in the Sky Box at Westpac Stadium just hours before kick-off. He was taken by ambulance to Wellington Hospital.
Initially the paramedics thought McGeechan had suffered from a heart attack, but it was just a bug as his daughter had stated earlier in the evening.
"Fortunately it was nothing more serious than a vicious bug. I had been suffering from it for the past couple of days which has limited what I could wat. Just before 4pm I suddenly started feeling very dizzy. I thought I was going to be sick and the next thing I know someone is catching me from behind as I fell over."
