Chiefs wing Maritino Nemani has been suspended for three weeks for his tip-tackle on Rene Ranger on Saturday but will not miss any games for his franchise.
The Super Rugby competition breaks for four weeks for the June internationals and while Nemani will not be allowed to play club rugby or in the North v South match in Dunedin next Sunday, the suspension will not be particularly problematic for the player or the Chiefs.
He has been banned from all forms of the game until June 23. The Chiefs' next game is against the Highlanders in Dunedin on June 29.
Sanzar duty judicial officer Mike Heron said he took into consideration Nemani's guilty plea, his previously clean record and the lack of injury to Ranger.
Blues loose forward Steven Luatua was also cited in the match at North Harbour Stadium, won 41-34 by the Chiefs, after his tip-tackle on lock Brodie Retallick, but has escaped suspension.
