Former All Blacks first five-eighth Dan Carter has made a strong start to 2016, kicking French side Racing 92 to a 23-18 victory over the Bordeaux Begles in the Top 14 competition this morning.
Carter finished with 11 points from the boot including three penalties as Racing moved to the top of the Top 14 table with their ninth win of the season.
French internationals Dimitri Szarzewski and Alexandre Dumoulin both scored for the home side, both converted by Carter. Former Blues number 10 Simon Hickey finished with 12 points for Bordeaux in the defeat.
New Zealanders Chris Masoe, Casey Laulala and Ben Tameifuna all fronted for Racing 92 in the victory.
