Crusaders coach Todd Blackadder is praising the Blues aggressive recruitment for 2013.
While they missed out on All Black Israel Dagg, the new John Kirwan led side are in talks with flanker Adam Thomson to bring him to Eden Park next year.
He says it is a good approach but despite Dagg having yet to put pen to paper, he won't be heading north.
"You've got to applaud the Blues, they're out there, they're being aggressive, they're trying to put a team and you know before he signs an NZRU deal nothing is done so why not ask.
"If things were to change then we would just deal with that but i can't see that happening."
