Former All Blacks lock Dominic Bird has signed a deal with French Top 14 side Racing 92.
Bird, who played two tests for the All Blacks in 2013, is currently sidelined for the entire Super Rugby season after injuring his shoulder in the Chiefs' week two clash against the Crusaders.
Racing 92, the now former club of Dan Carter, announced Bird as a signing as part of eight new players yesterday.
The 27-year-old Bird replaces retiring Argentinian lock Patricio Albacete.
