19-year old Kiwi rower Zoe McBride has made a remarkable impact on the world stage.
The lightweight women's singles sculler has set a world record time in her semifinal at the World Cup regatta in Italy, breaking a mark which has stood for 21 years.
McBride's stellar time of seven minutes 24.46 seconds easily broke the previous world record of 7.28.15, set in 1994 by Constanta Burcicia of Romania.
The talented McBride will be the favourite in tomorrow's night final, with fellow Kiwi sculler Jackie Kiddle also set to be racing in the finale after finishing third in the same race.
