The standoff between Dick Tonks and Rowing New Zealand looks set to continue into the New Year.
Rowing New Zealand chief executive Simon Peterson this morning issued a short statement saying discussions over the future coaching arrangements for Olympic champion Mahe Drysdale and the women's double sculls are continuing.
It follows the walk out of Tonks last week after a falling out with the national body over his coaching of a Chinese pair at Lake Karapiro.
Rowing New Zealand said it plans to have the situation resolved by the time the rowers return to training in the New Year and there would be no further comment until the matter is resolved.
There are a number of regattas in January, with many of the New Zealand squad regularly competing in the Cambridge Town Cup as a tune up to the national champs in mid-February
