Rowing New Zealand today announced its teams to compete at the world championships and world under-23 championships this year.
The 2005 World Rowing Championships will be held in Gifu, Japan from August 28 until September 3, and the World Under-23 Championships are scheduled for Amsterdam, the Netherlands, from July 22-24.
The teams were announced by Rowing New Zealand selectors Conrad Robertson (convenor), Athole Earl, and Allan Cotter.
World Championships
Men's coxless pair: George Bridgewater (Canaviron) and Nathan Twaddle (Auckland).
Men's coxless four: Steven Cottle (Auckland), and Donald Leach, Carl Meyer and Eric Murray (all Canaviron).
Men's single scull: Mahe Drysdale (West End).
Women's double scull: Georgina Evers-Swindell (Hamilton) and Caroline Evers-Swindell (Hamilton).
Women's coxless pair: Juliette Haigh and Nicky Coles.
Under-23
Men's coxless four: Hamish Bond (North End), Hamish Burson and Campbell Winter (both Union Wanganui) and David Schumacher (Auckland).
Men's lightweight single scull: Storm Uru (Canaviron)
Women's double scull: Fiona Paterson (Hamilton) and Jaime Nielsen (Waikato).
Women's quadruple scull: Bess Halley and Darnelle Timbs (both Aramaho / Wanganui), Rebecca Scown (Union Wanganui) and Clementine Marshall (Union Christchurch).
Women's single scull: Emma Twigg (Canaviron).
