Napier sculler Emma Twigg continued New Zealand rowing's memorable past 12 months with a gold medal at the world junior championships in Germany yesterday.
Twigg was the top performer for New Zealand, who secured two medals from four finals, with Picton double scullers Joseph Sullivan and Daniel Karena winning bronze.
Twigg, 18, was the standout women's single sculler in the heats and semifinals, and was equally impressive in the final on the Beetzsee regatta course in Brandenburg.
New Zealand's men's eights and women's coxless four finished fifth in their respective finals.
