A third New Zealand crew has made it to the finals in the world championships in Switzerland.
Following in the footsteps of the women's double scull and women's coxless four, the New Zealand quadruple of Caroline and Georgina Evers-Swindell, Paula Twining and Sonia Waddell won their heat, which qualified them for Monday morning's (NZT) final.
New Zealand won the second heat in 6m 32.55s but not without a fight.
The United States led them until the 1250m mark when the New Zealanders made a move and cruised to a 6s victory over Great Britain, US and Poland.
In the other heat, Olympic champions Germany took control early and won by more than a length, with Australia were second.
Germany recorded a near-identical time of 6m 32.47s and will join New Zealand in the final.
The New Zealand men's coxless four will race Italy, Lithuania, Slovenia and China in today's repechage, from which the first two crews will go through to the final.
