The spectators were as hot as the competitors in the Cambridge Town Cup rowing regatta.
Yesterday's event on Lake Karapiro drew crowds young and old as Mahe Drysdale knocked fellow Olympic gold medallist Hamish Bond off his perch by winning the single sculls. He finished runner-up to him last year.
Bond's usual rowing partner Eric Murray also competed.
The pair have dominated the men's coxless pair in world events but mix things up domestically, taking each other on in the single sculls.
