A British four-man crew set a world record for rowing across the Atlantic, crossing the ocean in 39 days to win the Atlantic race yesterday.
A two-man New Zealand crew of Kevin Biggar and Jamie Fitzgerald won the 2003 event in a record 40 days, five hours and 31 minutes.
Justin Adkin, 26, his brother Robert, 23, and cousins Martin Adkin, 20, and James Green, 24, from Beer, England, completed the 4717km crossing from the Canary Islands to Antigua in 39 days, 3 hours, 32 minutes.
