The New Zealand women's four and the men's pair advanced to the next round at the world junior rowing championships in Amsterdam yesterday, joining the women's quad and men's eight who qualified for their semifinals. The women's four of Harriet Austin (Wanganui), Jessica Loe (Christchurch), Georgie Baker (Wanganui) and Rachel Arbuckle (Hamilton), stayed ahead of Australia in winning their race. Junior men's pair Brad Ross and Josh Payne, and Italy, fought to the finish after overtaking early leader South Africa.
