KEY POINTS:
The battle for single sculls rowing supremacy between world champion Mahe Drysdale and young challenger Nathan Cohen looks likely to extend into the doubles at the national rowing championships at Lake Ruataniwha.
Drysdale and Cohen were drawn together in yesterday's first single scull semifinal, and Cohen looked the sharper of the two away.
Drysdale, however, had a slight lead at the 1000m mark before the two eased off with a comfortable margin over the rest of the field.
In the doubles, Drysdale and partner Nathan Twaddle looked clean and sharp as they dominated their heat, sitting ahead of a great battle for the remaining two qualifying slots. In the other semifinal, Cohen and partner Matthew Trott also looked comfortable.
