Former All Blacks captain Richie McCaw's feet have come off second best after competing in the GODZone adventure race.
McCaw and his PWC team finished in sixth place after six days of gruelling physical exertion in Fiordland.
McCaw's wife Gemma has put out photos and video of Richie's badly blistered and swollen feet which show her treating the injuries.
McCaw's team, comprised of Rob Nichol, Sarah Fairmaid and Bob McLachlan, finished about 22 hours behind the winners, Yealands Family Wine, who finished the race in five days, 11 hours and 34 minutes.
Athletes were challenged over a number of disciplines in the 10-day race across Southland and Fiordland.
