A young French woman has spoken out after she found herself at the heart of a mob of Irish football fans - who serenaded her with love songs. Mail Online can reveal the woman in the video is Carla Roméra, who works as a lifeguard in her native France.
Hundreds of Irish supporters were captured on camera circling Ms Roméra, following the Ireland-Belgium Euro 2016 game in Bordeaux on Saturday.
And the fans were so smitten with the young lifeguard they serenaded her - in a video that soon went viral, amassing more than one million hits in hours.
Miss Roméra confirmed she was the young woman at the centre of their affection, and said the experience was "magical".
"I want to say that I am very proud of the Irish, it was a magical time filled with kindness and joy," Miss Roméra told Mail Online.
The swaying crowds were filmed singing Can't Take My Eyes Off You and Hey Baby to Carla as she giggled coyly.
And at the end of the video, one love-struck man even managed to steal a kiss from Miss Roméra.
