KEY POINTS:
Frenchman Sebastien Loeb holds the narrowest of leads heading into the penultimate stage of Rally New Zealand.
Marcus Gronholm was 2.4 seconds faster on the recently completed 16th stage and now trails Loeb by a mere two-tenths of a second.
They are currently on the 17th stage at Whaanga Coast, before returning to Mystery Creek for the final stage.
Gronholm's team-mate Mikko Hirvonen is still third overall.
