Three investigations will run into the tragic death of Riverton jockey Rebecca Black at a race meeting in the South Island yesterday.
Greg Purcell, chief executive of the New Zealand Thoroughbred Racing, confirmed today that investigations will be run by the stipendiary stewards in attendance at the Tapanui Racing
Club meeting on Sunday; a police report is going to the coroner; and the coroners' inquiry will investigate the incident in which Black, 40, died after her horse Point Proven stumbled and fell, dislodging her from her saddle.
There's also to be a Worksafe NZ check as well.
''We work closely with Worksafe on all sorts of issues.
"There's going to be four layers of investigation into the incident, which is appropriate," Purcell told Radio Sport today.
