While punters are backing the All Blacks to win in Sydney on Saturday night they are expecting the year's opening Bledisloe Cup clash to be a tight contest.
Despite New Zealand's short price of $1.18 in the Head to Head market they have attracted over six times as much money as Australia with the largest wager on New Zealand so far a $15,000 bet at $1.18 placed back on August 7. There has also been a $5,000 bet on the All Blacks amongst numerous other four-figure bets backing them but just one bet of $1,000 or more on Australia.
It's a different story in the Points Start market with the 12.5 point start the bookies have given Australia proving to be incentive enough to get the punters backing the Wallabies. Australia +12.5 currently has six times as much money as New Zealand -12.5 behind it, including two bets of over $2,000.
One punter will certainly be backing the Wallabies on Saturday night as Australia Head to Head is the final leg of their $3 Multi that will pay out $2,630.10 if the Wallabies get up while another punter's $10 Multi will return them $1,938.40 should the same result occur.
Punters are also gearing up for Winx's return at Randwick on Saturday, with one placing a bet of $10,000 on her to finish the year undefeated, to return $30,000.
