Day one of the World Rowing Championships on Lake Karapiro has been cancelled.
Very strong wind gusts throughout the day have made racing quite treacherous.
The earlier heats got under way but the rest of the racing has been postponed and will start at 10am tomorrow.
The good news for spectators who had day passes for Sunday is that those passes will still be valid for Monday's racing.
Lucy Strack and Julia Edward finished third in their heat and will race in the repechage tomorrow.
Edward says their inexperience showed in the second half of the race.
She says they got off to a great start but the conditions took over after the first kilometre.
The men's lightweight coxless pair of James Lassche and Graham Oberlin-Brown have qualified first in their heat to advance straight into the A-final.
