The Auckland Racing Club will have the dream showdown at Ellerslie on March 5 in the $120,000 Sires Produce Stakes.
Glamour 2-year-old Wahid will clash with the unbeaten Darci Brahma in the Group One event.
Add into that mix the possibility of speedy Wanganui filly Mi Jubilee, and the stage is set for real drama.
Darci Brahma, a $1.1 million yearling purchase, produced a clinical display of power and speed to win effortlessly the $35,000 Fairview Ford Slipper (listed event) at Matamata yesterday.
The bold, striking colt swept forward three wide around the field with 400 metres remaining.
In the home stretch he lengthened stride effortlessly like a well-balanced equine athlete and scored by 3 1/2 lengths over Skyward.
Master Regent battled on gallantly to finish a further three-quarters of a length away in third position.
"As long as he pulls up well after racing here at Matamata I intend to race him next in the Sires Produce Stakes at Ellerslie on March 5," said Darci Brahma's trainer Mark Walker.
"He accelerated impressively when Hayden [Tinsley, jockey] asked him to sprint three wide around the field and he's a lovely athletic colt.
"It's hard to compare him with some of the other top 2-year-olds I've trained in the past but at this point he is right up there with the best I have had.
"After he races at Ellerslie I would like to give him a short spell.
"Then we might look to take him over to Brisbane for a couple of races during the winter carnival. He has only had two race starts but he gives me the impression that he is getting better and better each time I take him to the racetrack."
Walker will also have a handy second stringer in the Ellerslie feature, as the speedy Kindacross is a confirmed starter.
Mi Jubilee made no contest of the Robin, Duke of Bedford Matamata Breeders' Stakes. She grabbed the lead and stayed there.
Jockey David Walker was unsure where she would race next, but it could be at Ellerslie for the Sires Stakes.
Mi Jubilee has been a consistent performer scoring three wins and two placings from seven starts.
