Donna Logan has known for some time that Chasing Great was well above average and the best is yet to come from the 3-year-old.
"We've always had a lot of time for him and he won a jump-out here nearly a year ago so we knew he had plenty of ability," said the Ruakaka horsewoman, who trains with Chris Gibbs.
A luckless sixth on debut, Chasing Great turned in a stylish performance to score on his home track in yesterday's White Cliffs Timber Maiden to complete a winning treble for his stable and jockey Troy Harris.
Chasing Great got back in the running before the strapping son of Postponed hit top gear to post a victory with an international flavour.
"We syndicated him for his owners and put in OTI from Melbourne so it's a great result," Logan said.
