A brilliant workout on Tuesday morning has eased trainer Jamie Gameson pre-race worries over Here We Go Again in today's $170,000 Alabar Sires Stakes at Alexandra Park.
Here We Go Again stamped herself as a chip off the old block - she is a daughter of New Zealand Cup winner Kym's Girl - with a jaw-dropping win at her last start over most of today's race rivals.
But she has since missed another race - Gameson had to scratch her from a Sires' Stakes heat last Thursday.
That was because of a minor leg problem, one which her trainer is sure won't be a factor today.
"Initially, I was worried because it came at a bad time but in the end she only ended up missing two days' jogging," said Gameson.
"She has [had] plenty of work since and I was thrilled with how she worked on Tuesday morning."
The way Here We Go Again overcame a second line draw to beat Twist N Twirl three weeks ago leaves little doubt she is good enough to triumph again, but Gameson admits the draw is more of a concern today.
"I wasn't really happy when I saw it, but a few of Mark Purdon's ones have drawn badly too, so there should be some moves in the race.
"But the big problem is Alchemist has drawn the ace so she is going to end up covering a lot less ground than us."
