KEY POINTS:
Fast-improving stayer Cross Roads may have earned a Singapore Derby start in July with his gutsy Dunstan Feeds Championships Final win yesterday.
Owner and breeder Peter Walker says he's also considering a run for the Joanne Surgenor-trained four-year-old in the New Zealand St Leger in March.
"We'll just give him a short break and decide from there," said Walker.
"He had to win today for me to consider Singapore."
Walker was lavish in his praise yesterday for the role of Surgenor and rider Gavin McKeon in Cross Roads' fifth win from just eight starts.
But he saved his biggest accolade for the horse's late dam Toonsie, who also produced Royal Stakes runner-up Kaatoon and Rich Hill Mile contender Black Panther.
"This mare is incredible," he said. "She died giving birth to her fifth foal, but you name me a mare who's had all her progeny except one racing on the same card."
