Riccarton trainer Shane Marr is hoping he can end the massive form run of Peter McKenzie in tomorrow's $40,000 Winter Championship Final at Awapuni.
Marr produces the in-form Sir Ambrose and is hoping to be able to keep the McKenzie runner Lord Monty at bay along with topweight Pairau Princess.
The key may be track conditions - two starts back Sir Ambrose won on this track on probably the wettest track of the winter so far. "The amount of rain we've had in the last 36 hours means we should get the same type of footing," said Marr.
Lord Monty failed at Rotorua last start but looks a coming star and is the horse to beat.
