David Walsh is the replacement rider for Milo in the Gore Guineas today, attempting to replicate the winning combination of two years ago.
Walsh replaces an injured Brittany Moore, who has ridden Milo to wins at Kurow and Omakau and a third in three starts.
Walsh won the Gore Guineas two years ago on Coup Align for trainer Michael Pitman, who prepares Milo.
Pitman also has Conscious Mistake and Miss Maximuss in the Gore Guineas. Conscious Mistake won his last start at Waikouaiti on January 1 in an 1150m race for two and three- year-olds, holding out Miss Maximuss by a nose.
Jamie Bullard has retained the mount. He rode the Pitman and Chris Harris-trained Royal Show to win the Gore Guineas in 2003.
Anzac Star, who ran fifth in the Waikouaiti race, won over 1100m at Omakau three days later.
The Harrier, an easy winner against older horses at Reefton and Omoto this month, will be ridden by Kylie Williams. She won the Gore Guineas last year on the filly Chaparella.
Waitui Music, a close second to Titch in the Kumara Nuggets following a win at Kurow, could prove hard to beat in the Gore Cup.
Chase The Sun is in line for a win after seconds in the Waikouaiti Cup (to Peyow Peyow) and Clare Memorial Cup ( won by Inferno). He is the mount of Jay Misbah, who has won the Gore Cup twice on Of The Essence in the past three years.Otago Daily Times
