Champion apprentice Michael Walker might ride in the United Arab Emirates this year.
Walker said the opportunity could be provided by international New Zealand trainer Graeme Rogerson, who operates a stable at Dubai in the United Arab Emirates.
"Graeme has mentioned it to me but I wouldn't know when," Walker said.
Walker is a regular rider for Rogerson's New Zealand stable which is operated in partnership with Keith Hawtin.
The Rogerson-Hawtin partnership has provided numerous winners for Walker, including his best to date. That was with Smiling Like in the group two $160,000 New Zealand Cup (3200m) at Riccarton in November.
Walker also rode his first Australian winner from Rogerson's Sydney stable. That came with Huge Demand in the $A190,000 Hawkesbury Gold Cup in New South Wales in December.
The jockey is unsure if he will ride Smiling Like in this month's $270,000 Wellington Cup (3200m).
Smiling Like pulled up sore from the Auckland Cup on January 1. Walker said other mounts he had been offered for the Wellington Cup were stablemate So Lets in addition to Armstrong, Starina and She's Country.
The 16-year-old, who has also ridden a winner in Singapore in his brief career, is making no race of the New Zealand jockeys' premiership.
He has won 82 races so far this season, which is almost the double the number of his nearest rival, 10-times premiership winner Lance O'Sullivan, who is on 45 wins.
Walker caused a sensation last season by winning the jockeys' premiership in his first year as a rider.
While he is making a one-rider race of this year's premiership, the trainers' premiership is much closer.
The Rogerson-Hawtin partnership has a one-win lead over Woodville's Bruce Marsh, who won the New Zealand Derby with Hail.
Rogerson and Hawtin head the table with 26 wins. Marsh is on 25.
