New Zealand jockey Jason Waddell will appeal against a two-month suspension in Singapore after he was charged with failing to ride a horse to the satisfaction of stewards.
The suspension arose from a meeting on June 25 but was only confirmed at the weekend following an adjournment of the original inquiry.
The stipendiary stewards' report said Waddell has appealed the suspension and is able to continue riding under a stay of proceedings until the result of the appeal is known.
A date for the appeal has yet to be set.
Waddell, a former top New Zealand apprentice, is attached to the stable of former New Zealand trainer Laurie Laxon and has already established himself as one of the leading riders in Singapore since arriving there a year ago.
Stewards said in their report they were not happy with Waddell's ride in the early stage of the race concerned.
Waddell had one win in Singapore on Friday night to take his year's tally to 25, which has him fourth on the jockeys' premiership table and four wins behind the leader.
