KEY POINTS:
Jockey Jason Waddell has been suspended for nearly a month for careless riding following an adjourned inquiry into three separate incidents dating back to December 5.
The suspensions - totalling 17 riding days - begin on January 4 and run through to January 31. That rules him out of the three-day Wellington Cup meeting next month and the $1 million Karaka Million for two-year-olds at Ellerslie on January 27.
All three of Waddell's suspensions were for careless riding.
The first of them was at Avondale. It was found Waddell contributed to the fall of rival Spectacular Icon in a 2200m rating 90 race. The other suspensions stemmed from a meeting at Te Rapa on December 15.
