Two late entries have been received for the $250,000 Wellington Cup (3200m) at Trentham on January 28.
They are the Waikato-trained mares Boulevardofdreams and Sing In The Sun and bolster the number remaining in the group one race to 39. The field is restricted to 18 runners.
Boulevardofdreams, a 5-year-old by Daggers Drawn trained at Matamata by Wayne and Vanessa Hillis, is now living up to the promise she showed as a 3-year-old.
She won successive races over 2200m and 2100m at Avondale and Ellerslie on December 3 and 26 respectively before finishing a close third to Medit King over 2100m at Ellerslie last Saturday.
Sing In The Sun, a Desert Sun six-year-old trained at Cambridge by owner Tony Devcich, is a relative newcomer to the staying ranks but won over 2100m at Ellerslie on December 29.
Last start she was an unlucky sixth in the $60,000 Marton Cup (2200m) at Awapuni.
Boulevardofdreams was yesterday on the sixth line of betting for the Wellington Cup at $16 with the New Zealand TAB while Sing In The Sun was on the seventh line at $20.
