Interdominion favourite A Touch Of Flair will round off his preparation for the Melbourne Trotters' Interdominion Championships in a free-for-all at Moonee Valley tonight.
A Touch Of Flair, the $5 favourite with TAB Sportsbet for the Interdominion, will clash with New Zealander Glenbogle who finished second behind him in the group one Dullard Cup at Moonee Valley last month.
Also in the free-for-all is Code Of Honour who finished third in the Dullard Cup and is also Interdominion bound.
A Touch Of Flair has drawn the outside of the front row in the free-for-all while Glenbogle will start from gate two on the second row and Code Of Honour from barrier six.
Pre-post price assessors have A Touch Of Flair dominating betting as the $1.20 favourite on the strength of his Dullard Cup win where he raced without cover before surging clear to register a most impressive victory.
Trainer-driver Russell Thomson said the 5-year-old needed a run before heading into the Interdominion Championship where the opening heats will be held at Ballarat on January 28 before the final-round heats and final move to Moonee Valley next month.
Thomson said the draw would not work against his horse who showed brilliant gate speed in the Dullard Cup.
He said the horse had done well since the Dullard Cup and he was looking forward to the Interdominion.
"He's feeling pretty good. It's all systems go from here on."
Second-round rankings for the Interdominion will be announced on Monday with many in the free-for-all vying to press their credentials.
