Nick Bishara is keen to push the distance boundary with the promising Verry Flash in the new season.
"Once the spring tracks arrive I want to get him over more ground," the Ardmore Lodge trainer said.
"He's not an out and out mudder and he'll go on the better ground."
The three-year-old son of Zed has won two of his seven starts up to 1600m, a distance he will again contest in the Signature Homes Handicap (1600m) at Te Rapa today.
"I'm very happy with him, he's still a bit mentally immature but there's plenty of upside to him," Bishara said.
