It will be a classic race but the winner should come from Delft (14) or Lyell Creek (13).
Delft has an enormous motor and has been the star of the heats, particularly last Friday when he bolted in over this trip in a fast time.
Could be even more powerful when saved for one run and is the horse to beat, with the one major concern being his inexperience.
That is the least of your worries if you back Lyell Creek who has peaked at the right time. Flashing second last Tuesday was followed by him being checked out of the race last Friday.
That could be a blessing in disguise because he hasn't had a hard series and if they go hard he can finish over the top.
Allegro Agitato (6) is a very good mare who should work her way to the lead early. If she can get an easy time (unlikely), or take a sit (more likely), she can win.
May not be as good as the favourites but the week off will have done her the world of good.
Sammy Do Good (7) showed something like his best after a torrid run in the last heat last Friday and is as good as the Kiwis when he is at his best.
The only problem is he may be a shade below that but it wouldn't surprise to see him work to the lead and be very hard to catch.
Take A Moment (10) is a champion but might be a month away from his best form. Will be running on but a win would be remarkable.
Sumthingaboutmaori (12) was horrible here last Friday so has needed the week off. Her best, and probably only, chance is if they go crazy up front and she can divebomb them.
Martina H (9) could win with a miracle run - but they are a little hard to come by.
Pompallier (8) is the next best horse in the race but is not suited by his wide draw, whereas Glenbogle (2) gets the chance to lead and take a sit, which gives him an outside place chance.
The surprise of the series has been Toomuch To Do (11) who is also a place chance along with Play On (1), who will do no work.
